Not all digital courses are created equal.
There’s a Signature Course, a Spotlight Course, and a Starter Course. All are different and unique in their own way and all can work well for different entrepreneurs and online businesses.
In this episode, I share a student story about each course type. I talk about…
- Why the specific course type worked best for their business
- The successes that they had with this course
- How it fits into their business like a puzzle piece
Plus, I even share a little advice and guidance for other entrepreneurs thinking about creating a course.
If you’re not sure what type of digital course would work best for your business, this episode is for you!
Here’s a glance at this episode…
- [03:14] A Signature Course is a complete comprehensive system all-in-one course. It's specific, detailed and includes the entire framework for a total transformation.
- [04:12] Rhea Reid has a Signature Course teaching rising pro photographers how to run a successful photography business and has generated around $30,000 from this one digital course.
- [07:31] She says, “This is the time for self-education. Having a digital product is extremely important for entrepreneurs and coaches when it comes to scaling and reaching more people.”
- [08:13] A Spotlight Course takes a deeper dive and offers specifics and hyper-detailed information into just one specific area. My student example is Clare Le Roy, who has created a Spotlight Course called SketchUp for Interior Design Beginners. (Please note: there is an inaccuracy in Clare's name and business name in the episode. However, all links on this page are accurate.)
- [10:32] Clare had been working with clients one-on-one for about seven years. Clients kept asking how she designed her drawings, and that's when she decided to create this specific course. She made $36,000 during her validation presell launch alone!
- [11:41] She now has four courses and has generated an additional $350,000.
- [15:33] Louisa Deasey has a Starter Course called The 30-Day Journaling E-Course. This type of course is a jumping off point where you help your student get started in your area of expertise.
- [17:53] She made about $3,000 with her Starter Course but went on to make close to 6-figures with her Signature Course.
- [18:52] Her advice is to create a smaller version of your Signature Course and set it up at a super low cost, so your audience members can dip their toes into it.
