Listen on…
These days we could all use a little validation, am I right?!
Whether you're hoping your bestie loves your outfit or that your client thinks you did great work on a project.
Validation leads to clarity, clarity leads to confidence, and confidence leads to bold action.
When it comes to creating and launching a digital course that your audience is going to love, that validation is the difference between wild success and what some people call “launching to crickets.”
But Amy, you’re thinking, how do I validate my digital course idea before I’ve even created it? That’s not possible (is it?)!
And I’m here to tell you, you’d be wrong.
Today I’m sharing my “Course Call” process and I promise, this is going to be a game-changer for you.
Better yet? This episode is me calling up a real ideal customer avatar, Jamie Trull, demonstrating for you exactly what happens on one of these calls.
Please, by all means, take note of the questions I ask and make them your own, but it's important to not get stuck on following your line of questions when it might be better to go down another path as something interesting comes up. Curiosity and good listening is key with these calls.
Take a listen and then use this framework to go on with your bad self and validate your own course idea!
Here's the breakdown of what went down on my call with Jamie:
- [13:52] Jamie started Balance CFO to have more balance in life. Her problem is that one-on-one business is trading dollars for time. Can you relate?
- [17:35] Scaling, frustrations, time, and revenue goals. I ask about Jamie's dream revenue model.
- [20:37] Jamie shares that her ideal day would be having more quality time with her kids.
- [21:52] I ask Jamie if she has any frameworks that she uses in her business. We talk about the 5-step process she has in place. We also explore how Jamie could help her clients the most with that framework.
- [24:45] I discover that digital courses have been on Jamie's radar. We dig into the obstacles that have prevented her from moving forward. We also explore course ideas and niches to target.
- [32:30] I uncover why Jamie hasn't already bought a course about creating courses. For Jamie it's a commitment issue, and you'll see how we fixed that! : )
- [33:23] Jamie has around 400 people on her email list and a Facebook community of 1200. She built her community by going live every week and talking about things her audience wanted to know. (Tip: Listen to your audience, they'll tell you what they want!)
- [36:23] I ask Jamie what roadblocks around creating and selling a course might slow her down. Her answer is the most common I hear, but there's an easy solution!
- [40:05] I ask Jamie where she spends the most time online and what her focus is when she's there.
This call with Jamie was so helpful AND fun! I want you to see how easy the “Course Call” process is and how you, too, can uncover absolute golden nuggets of valuable intel to help you create content that your audience will love.
